Position Overview
The Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) is the communication and coordination hub between the home office and our Franchisees. As an FBC, your work will directly impact the success of the organization by influencing the performance and profitability of Goldfish Swim School Franchisees. This position requires very strong communication skills as well as the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with franchisees. An FBC can assert more influence than authority to get agreed upon goals accomplished.
An FBC has, or can quickly develop, the technical proficiency to support franchisees on the day-to-day operations of a swim school and to effectively train the franchisees on school operations. Successful FBC’s will leverage their industry and business development experience to assess current school performance, identify areas of opportunities, recommend solutions based upon best practices, develop an action plan and follow up to ensure maximum results.

Primary Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with assigned Franchisees as the primary support contact for Goldfish Swim School.
- Conduct in-person and virtual operations site visits with assigned schools. Provide assessment and written follow up.
- Work collaboratively with the Franchisees to develop a business/operational plan that includes specific goals with key initiatives and deadlines to help them achieve maximum growth potential.
- Update and monitor financial and operational performance metrics.
- Provide regular reviews of performance by Franchisee and Region to the leadership team.
Job Description
- Be an active and engaged ambassador for Goldfish Swim School by understanding, interpreting, upholding and enforcing system standards, policies and contracts.
- Ensure franchisees have completed and implemented all current training programs
- Communicate, train and follow up on new product, service and process roll-outs to franchisees.
- Maintain technical proficiency to guide franchisees on day-to-day operations of the swim school.
- Provide hands-on training when applicable.
- Ensure each location is maintaining the highest level of compliance with safety standards.
- Manage Franchisee Master Record including logging communication, updates, changes and administrative functions.
- Take a leadership role in developing components of franchise support systems for the betterment of the entire system.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure internal alignment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualification & Skills
- Natural consultative ability plus strong relationship development skills.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influence and inspirational abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills (video, phone, email, in-person and presentation)
- Proven ability to set expectations, measure effectiveness, and enforce standards within agreed upon timeframe.
- Refined analytical skills to interpret financial, customer satisfaction and other reporting.
- Manage cross-functional programs focused on enhancing franchise operations.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Adept at working independently and making decisions with minimal supervision
- Must be flexible and comfortable dealing with uncertainty; demonstrated ability to create structure.
- Capacity to remain calm when challenged and uphold professionalism when working through conflict
- Travel up to 50% as needed
- Experience: Five (5) or more years related experience in multi-unit leadership franchisee operations support role; experience in the children’s education/activity field is a plus.
- Education: A bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; focus in business, finance, communications or related field is a plus.
- CPR, Lifeguard and/or Certified Pool Operator certification(s) are a plus
