Job Title: Deck Supervisor
Reports to: Assistant General Manager
FLSA Status: Part-time Non-Exempt
High school diploma or GED required (If you have not graduated High School or obtained GED you will be transferred to Swim Instructor)

Summary: Manages assigned shift including supervision of on-deck employees, maintenance of pool environment and interaction with students and parents. Performs as an expert on all levels of the GSS curriculum. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of GSS policies and practices. Swim Instructor training would be required in order to obtain this position.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Provides leadership, discipline, and constructive feedback to instructors and deck assistants to ensure quality delivery of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
2. Conduct daily pre-shift meetings and prepare the deck for the shift.
3. Conducts periodic evaluations of instructors and deck team.
4. Interacts with parents/guardians to discuss student progress. Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Completes daily Deck Supervisor logs on assigned shift and monitors the children’s attendance.
6. Coordinates tasks required to ensure the cleanliness of the pool facility.
7. Helps arrange for replacements for absent employees.
8. Maintains the appropriate levels of chemicals for the pool environment.
9. Act as substitute swim instructor when necessary.
10. As a member of the deck supervisor team, suggests areas for improvement and implements corrective action through in-service’s or other training.
11. Participates in training/in-services as required.
Education/Experience:
. Previous swim instruction experience or aquatics industry background desired. Experience as a youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or teacher preferred.
Work Environment:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
Certificates and Licenses:
Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid and AED certification required. In the result that the certification lapses or expires, Deck Supervisor will be removed from the assigned station until a current certification can be obtained.
Salary : $12 - $15
