As a swim instructor, you’ll be in 90-degree water teaching swim lessons to children ages four months to 12 years old. Parents trust you to teach their children this life-saving skill with patience, energy, and enthusiasm.

Requirements:
- Ability to work with children
- Must be 15 years old
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Must pass background examinations (included with training)
- Must be able to be in the water consistently for a minimum of a three-hour shift in a warm and humid environment
Duties:
- Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
- Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
- Evaluates student's progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
- Uses problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
- Assists with setting up the pool before lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
- Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
Education/Experience:
- No experience is necessary. This is a great first job and part-time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus!
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certification courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
