Job Summary:
As a Barista at Marks Coffee, you’ll be the face of our coffee shop, preparing and serving a variety of espresso-based drinks and other beverages to customers. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, ensuring quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction with every order. Your friendly attitude and love for coffee will make our customers feel at home.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve beverages (coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and specialty beverages) with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Interact with customers in a positive and professional manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas, including equipment and customer seating areas.
- Handle cash and transactions accurately, including operating the register and processing payments.
- Maintain product knowledge about our menu offerings, including coffee beans, blends, and new seasonal items.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and ensuring all ingredients and materials are on hand.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth, efficient service and create a great work environment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and customers.
Requirements:
- Previous barista experience is a plus but not required; we’re happy to train enthusiastic candidates!
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- A passion for coffee and a desire to learn more about brewing techniques and coffee culture.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
