Title: Procurement Buyer
The role of Buyer is to manage the daily accountabilities of material planning, exception reporting and procurement of direct materials. You will be responsible for the procurement of certain raw materials and finished goods for Golding and will support the growth of Golding’s long-term synergies in the Procurement function. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of material planning experience, Procurement experience and has managed the procure to pay process at a fast past CPG manufacturing company. In addition to material planning, the ideal candidate has experience sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to optimize the total cost of ownership.
Responsibilities
- Conduct benchmarking for assigned commodities to develop and maintain category strategies for assigned commodities
- Lead the sourcing and supplier selection activities for assigned commodities and categories
- Negotiate clear, robust, and favorable terms and conditions in an appropriate contract in accordance with Golding policies and procedures
- Evaluate the total cost of ownership for sourcing decisions and make recommendations to the leadership team
- Monitor MRP to ensure materials availability to support customer requirements, on-time delivery, and coordinate material movement through receiving to production
- Manage the supply chain risks maintaining a robust supply chain
- Onboard new suppliers for new product launches and sourcing activities
- Communicate to other members of the Procurement and Operations teams
- Ensure project objectives are achieved and report on progress and activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Supply Chain Management or Logistics
- CPSM or APICS Certification a plus
- 3-5 years’ experience within a material planning role or Procurement role
- Experience working within a fast-paced CPG manufacturing environment
- Market analysis and supplier selection, reviewing market trends, and Procurement strategies, contracts & supplier relationship management
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerBI
