Compensation:
$65k-$70k Salary, plus commission
Essential Functions:
Sponsorship Sales & Partnerships
- Develop and implement strategies for securing event and year-round sponsorships, including identifying key corporate partners that fit our exhibition guidelines, offerings, cultivating relationships, and negotiating contracts.
- Develop, present and promote sponsorship packages to prospective partners and clients.
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure sponsor visibility and fulfillment of benefits during events.
- Maintain and cultivate a portfolio of existing sponsor relationships, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Achieve and exceed revenue targets for event sponsorship sales.
Grant Writing & Fundraising
- Research, write, and submit grant proposals to secure funding for the museum and the Wynwood Walls Foundation education, and general programming.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to identify new funding opportunities and develop compelling proposals aligned with the museum and foundation’s mission and guidelines.
- Prepare detailed reports for grant deliverables and ensure compliance with donor and grant requirements.
- Track and manage grant budgets, ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial, performance and execution reports.
Event Production & Management
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of museum events, including galas, fundraisers, exhibitions, and public programs.
- Manage event logistics, including securing vendors, overseeing event timelines, and ensuring events run smoothly from start to finish.
- Work closely with internal departments (e.g., marketing, education, curatorial) to ensure alignment with the museum’s goals and objectives.
- Ensure that all events are executed within budget and meet or exceed financial and attendance targets.
- Manage event staff and volunteers, providing direction and support as needed.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Collaborate with senior leadership and museum departments to develop and implement an annual events strategy aligned with the museum's goals.
- Provide regular reports on event performance, sponsorship sales, and grant funding efforts to leadership.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices to ensure events are innovative, engaging, and relevant to the museum’s audience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Event Management, Nonprofit Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in event sales, sponsorship, fundraising, or event management (preferably in a museum, arts, or nonprofit setting).
- Proven track record of successful sponsorship sales and grant writing.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and deliver impactful presentations.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build long-term relationships with sponsors and partners.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies, donor stewardship, and grant-writing best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing event budgets and achieving revenue goals.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event management software.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
