Job Description
Job Duties: Associate, Banker – Financing Group with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Analyze securities in an investment portfolio and identifying methodologies for restructuring or optimization, including yield pickup, capital relief and improved liquidity. Structure, price and execute interest rate, inflation, foreign currency, credit, and commodity transactions that meet clients’ specific economic and accounting criteria in collaboration with Trading personnel and various other parts of the firm (including the Credit and Legal departments). Provide risk management advice to financial institutions and corporate clients across industry sectors in the United States and Canada relating to their macroeconomic exposures, including interest rates, inflation, foreign currency, credit, commodities, and equities. Identify and quantify clients’ risk exposures from asset-liability mismatches and strategic financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (US and cross-border), debt issuances and repurchases, restructurings and equity offerings. Identify, assess, and prioritize business opportunities through client interaction, financial statement analysis, monitoring of client portfolios and market parameters and screening of general and industry-specific publications. Structure, negotiate and interpret ISDA (“International Swaps Dealer Association”) Master Agreements, Schedules, CSAs (“Credit Support Annexes”), trade confirmations and other governing documents relating to derivative transactions and financings. Determine appropriate content for and creating client presentation materials. Coordinate and guiding junior bankers in producing analysis, creating client presentations and pricing derivative transactions related to both internal and external presentations and trade executions.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with: presenting recent market developments and risk management strategies to senior executives and other key decision makers such as Assistant Treasurers and Treasury team members; analyzing financial statements (prepared under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards) and other disclosures in order to identify risk exposures to a variety of financial markets, financial metrics, interest expense, earnings per share, leverage, and enterprise value; analyzing the impact of interest rate and currency derivative solutions on financial statements; and utilizing Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel, to develop internal and external presentations, create financial models, and analyze data. Must have one (1) year of experience with: executing long-dated cross-currency swaps; negotiating and analyzing ISDA (“International Swaps Dealer Association”) Master Agreements and CSAs (“Credit Support Annexes”) as well as working on trade confirmations and other governing documents related to derivative transactions; and structuring, pricing, and executing interest rate, inflation, foreign currency, credit, and derivative transactions in collaboration with structuring and trading personnel. License Requirement: FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses at time of hire. Travel Requirement: Domestic travel required approximately 15% of the time to meet with clients. All travel expenses paid by the Firm.
Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York -based position is $194,000/year - $275,000/year.
