Job Description
Job Duties: Associate, Credit Risk with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Dallas, Texas. Assess the credit and financial strength of counterparts by performing fundamental credit analysis of both quantitative and qualitative credit factors. Perform counterparty reviews, including recommending appropriate internal risk rating for each counterparty and setting credit limits. Review lending, derivative, and funding transactions while ensuring appropriate documentation and risk mitigants to protect against default and minimize potential losses. Coordinate with Investment Banking/Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Legal and Operations departments to assess transactions business and ensure appropriate documentation, risk mitigants, and limits. Proactively monitor and assess counterparts and industry subsectors and report relevant information and its impact to senior management in a timely manner.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience (with a Master’s degree) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor’s degree) with: reviewing and underwriting asset-backed structured financing products, including Warehouse Financing, Variable Funding Notes, and Term Loans; reviewing and underwriting loans secured by various asset categories including residential mortgages, consumer loans, commercial receivables, corporate loans, and indirect Commercial Real Estate; reviewing and underwriting commercial real estate loans, including loans for distribution in conduit Commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), loans for distribution in Single Asset Single Borrower (SASB) CMBS, portfolio financings, construction loans, acquisition facilities, and balance sheet loans; reviewing and underwriting loan-on-loan financing of loans to be financed in warehouse facilities for Commercial real estate (CRE) loan originators; reviewing and underwriting loans to Real estate investment trusts (REITs), real estate operating companies (REOCs), and real estate funds; reviewing and approving loans on various property types, including office, retail, multifamily, affordable multifamily, industrial, hotel, and data centers; regulatory rating requirements and application of such guidance; advanced Microsoft Excel including working with macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas; Structured query language (SQL); and Data visualization tools including Tableau.
