What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at GoldOller?

Lifeguards are responsible for the overall safety and care of the pool, amenities, and common area facilities of the property. Their primary focus is to maintain an inviting, clean and orderly environment at all times. The Lifeguard may be cross trained to complete other duties such as janitorial and/or maintenance.
This is a seasonal position with an expected end date of August 31, 2025.
Pay: $18-20
Location: The Commons at Olentangy Apartments
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
- Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, maintains a high standard of customer service with residents and guests.
- Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Includes: Daily opening and closing tasks, chemical testing (4x a day), filling Chlorinators as scheduled, balancing chemicals, removing all trash from facility, daily vacuuming, emptying skimmers.
- Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports; logging the rate of flow and chemical testing logs.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned; inventory of pool furniture and snack items.
Skill Requirements
- Must be CPR Certified; Current certification as Lifeguard or professional rescuer by a recognized source of training.
- Strong communication skills, especially in an emergency.
- Excellent observational and concentration skills
- Strong swimming skills
Experience:
- Experience: 6 months to 1-year experience directed related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Physical: Ability to lift, push and pull and carry up to 50 pounds. Physical elements of the job may require frequent standing and walking, squatting, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, balancing, and carrying.
- Able to work weekends.
- Willingness to help and work in areas other than pool areas, such as maintenance, janitorial, etc.
