Direct Support Professional
Location: Conveniently located near Denver, Thornton, Arvada, and Northglenn.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
GoldStar Learning Options (GLO) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team and support our adult and adolescent programs. This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the Role:
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at GLO, you will provide essential behavioral services within our facility and the community. Working closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), you will implement individualized programs designed to help participants achieve their goals. This includes supporting participants with high-magnitude maladaptive behaviors such as physical aggression, self-injury, and elopement, using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and professional crisis management techniques.
Your role as a DSP will focus on helping participants build critical self-regulation and coping skills, along with developing essential abilities like observation, listening, and perspective-taking. You will contribute to activities across all our programs, helping individuals lead meaningful, purposeful lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage and supervise individuals with disabilities, including those exhibiting high-magnitude maladaptive behaviors.
- Assist with daily living activities, including basic hygiene and toileting when needed.
- Implement behavior response protocols and support progress toward personalized goals.
- Plan and facilitate group activities and community outings.
- Document daily activities and collect data to track participant progress.
- Ensure participants' health and safety needs are met at all times.
- Collaborate with other Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support participants effectively.
- Provide QMAP-certified medication administration as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred.
- QMAP certification is required or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to pass a background check and CAPS report.
- Must provide two government-issued IDs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Team-oriented and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- RBT or BCaBA certification preferred but not required.
