We are looking to hire additional pharmacy technicians to fill positions in; Data Entry/Patient & Physician Liaison; Insurance Billing/Adjudicator; automation technician
This positions are full-time (40 hours/week) with our site Hours of Operation from 8:30am to 6:00pm Monday-Friday. We do require our employees to be flexible enough to work any shift, any day of the week during those hours.
The Pharmacy Technician Service Representative (Pharmacy Technician license required) is responsible for answering incoming calls/completing outbound calls to/from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity in a LTC pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Pharmacy technician working in the Billing/Prior Authorization unit within the Customer Service department of GoldStar Pharmacy.
- Using established criteria and guidelines, the pharmacy technician receives and processes prior authorization requests made by providers and members for medications not inherently covered on a member's prescription drug plan.
- Answer prior authorization inquiry calls as well as research and resolve formulary and benefit issues using the appropriate reference material.
- Resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
- Operate automated dispensing machinery
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Handles inbound phone requests and gathers member data to provide information for Pharmacist consultations
- Data Entry as needed Requirements: Qualifications:

- Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license or National Pharmacy Technician Certification is required
- 1 - 3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
- An education level of at least a high school diploma or GED OR 10 years of equivalent working experience
- Our ideal candidate has a stable work history and demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills
- 1 year experience providing customer service and working with healthcare professionals required
- 1 to 3 years of PC skills (MS Word, Excel) proficiency is preferred
- Experience with PioneerRx Pharmacy system is a plus
- Applies knowledge/skills to a range of moderately complex activities
- Demonstrates great depth of knowledge/skills in own function
- Sometimes acts as a technical resource to others in own function
- Proactively identifies solutions to non-standard requests
- Solves moderately complex problems on own
- Works with team to solve complex problems
- Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established objectives
- May coordinate work of other team members
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer
