What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Supervisor position at GOLDSTAR TRANSIT?
An Operations Supervisor under the supervision of the Terminal Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of a school bus terminal. This position works with the Terminal Manager in coordinating all functions of the facility including the maintenance, dispatching, employee recruiting and training, communicating with drivers, school district personnel and parents for daily routes, trips, and extra-curricular activities of students for our clients.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
· Assist the Manager with the overall day-to-day operations of the facility.
· Ensure coverage of daily home to school routes, trips, and charters.
· Coordinate all logistics for field and activity trips.
· Assist with driver training and recruitment programs.
· Coordinate with the Manager when conducting disciplinary actions of employees.
· Assist in maintenance of the driver credential files to ensure current certifications.
· Assist in preparing payroll, account receivables, account payables, and month end requirements to ensure timely submission to your respective location.
· Foster relations with school district administration, parents, and the community served
· Ensuring that each of your School Districts designees are being supplied with all required information and assist in providing a safe, reliable, on-time service through creating efficient and cost-effective solutions to routing issues.
· Knowledge and implementation of contents of School District contracts and facility leases.
· Attend School Board meetings when directed by Manager or Other STA Management.
· Responsible for carrying out all STA policies, State and Federal regulations
· Assist with planning of monthly driver safety meetings with safety and training designee for your area; Ensuring all drivers and staff are equipped with all necessary job-related training.
· Participate in the planning of yearly financial requirements for your respective facility.
· Assist in developing charter and school business for assets during non-school days and summer months.
· On occasion, may be required to drive.
· In the absence of the Terminal Manager overall responsibility for the operation.
· All other duties as designated by Terminal Manager or STA Senior Management.

· Ability to evaluate and discipline drivers and enforce STA policy and procedure.
· Proficiency with MS Office applications
· Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations
· Ability to conduct oneself professionally and in a manner to reflect positively on STA
· Highly driven to serve the community with safety as the top priority
· Motivated to seek upward development opportunities within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· State-Required Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement, preferred.
· 2 - 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited University or College preferred or equivalent experience
· 1-2 or more-year(s) experience in school bus operations; minimum of 1 year in a leadership role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
