Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director/Embalmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of funeral services, providing support to grieving families, and ensuring that each service is conducted with dignity and respect. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the emotional needs of clients during difficult times.
Duties
- Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and comfort throughout the funeral process.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing by performing necessary cosmetic procedures and ensuring proper presentation. Strong knowledge of Restorartive Art Procedures.
- Conduct every aspect of the care center including transporting the deceased from place of death to final disposition.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and physiology in the preparation of deceased individuals.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure that all services are carried out in accordance with legal requirements and ethical standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in funeral Industry. Atb least 5 years experience.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for preparing the deceased appropriately.
- Strong customer service skills are necessary to effectively communicate with grieving families.
- Familiarity with cosmetology techniques is beneficial for preparing individuals for viewings.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the handling of caskets and other equipment.
- Pennsyvania Funeral Directors License
- New Jersey Funeral Directors License would be nice but not mandatory
