1 year contract with potential to extend / convert
Contract to perm only; Fully remote (Massachusetts preferred but will consider out of state).
The Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) organization is the central hub of lifecycle engineering for our Client responsible for delivering maintaining and optimizing our technology portfolio on a cloud scale. We are a serviceoriented team dedicated to providing outstanding experiences to thousands of associates business partners and application delivery teams across the portfolio. As a Microsoft SQL Server Engineer supporting the Core MSSQL Platform you will be part of an Agile Team working with Architects Developers and Operations to deliver standards and best practices across MSSQL platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the Microsoft SQL Server Platform and SQL Databases.
Experience / Skills :
A bachelors degree in computer science or a related field (required)
Ten (10) years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Engineer in addition to the following bullets :
Engineering Microsoft SQL platforms. (required)
Developing new features and services of low to medium complexity in collaboration with product platform infrastructure and security teams.
Creating Runbooks Standard Operating Processes and conducting knowledge transfers to Operation Teams and Contractors.
Delivering clean secure and performant solutions and technology components that meet all nonfunctional requirements.
Acting as a Lead Engineer for medium to large initiatives prioritizing and assigning tasks providing guidance and resolving issues. (This role will not directly manage people.)
Leading and participating in the development of process definitions best practices and standards.
Identifying new technologies for consideration in modern technology directions and implementing proof of concepts to validate these technologies.
Eight (8) years of experience in the following areas :
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripting / coding languages such as TransactSQL (TSQL) Python and PowerShell. (required) Applications with experience using Ansible GitHub ControlM Jira and Confluence. (preferred)
Adhering to SOX (SarbanesOxley compliance). (preferred)
Developing technical application and service roadmaps including recommending and initiating ITdriven projects.
Providing technical subject matter expertise and insights.
