Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and visually driven Content and Social Media Specialist to join our team and help amplify Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. This individual will play a critical role in crafting compelling, mission-driven content with an emphasis on impactful visual storytelling. From designing engaging social media assets to managing social platforms, this role requires a strong design background and the ability to produce content that drives student recruitment, strengthens community engagement, and enhances our overall brand presence.
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to create visually compelling designs, achieve measurable engagement, increase student visits and applications, as well as positively influence awareness of Golisano Institute within the community.
This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Design visually compelling content that not only informs but inspires action from key audiences, such as prospective students, parents, and community stakeholders across various platforms, including social media, digital advertising campaigns, as well as other marketing materials such as collateral/brochures.
- Create innovative templates and assets that align with Golisano Institute’s brand guidelines.
- Craft impactful stories that highlight Golisano Institute’s unique mission, achievements, and student success stories.
Social Media Management
- Monitor and actively engage with online communities to build relationships, resolve customer issues, and ensure a positive brand experience.
- Manage all company social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, ensuring consistency and alignment with our brand voice.
- Plan and schedule posts using social media management tools like Buffer, ensuring timely and impactful content delivery.
- Design platform-specific campaigns and social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, achieve measurable engagement goals, and support business objectives.
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, admissions, academic department, and leadership, to ensure content strategies align with growth priorities.
- Partner with subject-matter experts (faculty, staff, and alumni) to create accurate, impactful content.
- Engage with students to create impactful content.
Analytics and Optimization
- Monitor and analyze the performance of content using analytics tools to continuously refine strategies to improve engagement and effectiveness.
- Stay informed of trends in higher education marketing and content development.
Qualifications Required
- 3 years of professional content development experience, preferably in higher education or a mission-driven organization, and social media platforms.
- Expertise in graphic design and multimedia content creation using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
- Understanding of design principles, typography, and branding.
- Knowledge of social media scheduling tools, such as Buffer.
- Video production and editing experience.
- Experience in digital marketing and knowledge of SEO best practices.
Preferred
- Basic writing/editing for copy and captions.
- Knowledge of CRM tools and Slate.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS).

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
