Laborer

Goltz Asphalt Company is a Northern Colorado asphalt paving and pavement maintenance company, that provides a wide range of services to its commercial and residential customers. We specialize from new paving of commercial parking lots and private driveways, to maintenance and repair of existing pavement systems.

We are currently hiring for experienced operators. Also we are hiring for experienced and inexperienced laborer positions.

Rate of pay dependent on experience. $17-$23/ hr

General Duties:

Perform unskilled and semi-skilled street maintenance duties including, but not limited to, patching and overlay paving. Assists in performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and cleans equipment and shop as necessary.

Receives instruction, training and guidance in the operation of equipment and tools used, such as pickup trucks, dump trucks, tractors, loaders, backhoe, asphalt roller, asphalt rake, paver, compressor, shovel, jack hammer, post pounder, sledge hammer and hand tools.

Receives training in patching with hot-mix asphalt, performing street and parking lot overlay and crack-seal operations.

Duties require a full range of physical motion and activities. The incumbent must be able to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and digging for extended periods of time in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold; climb and maintain balance effectively on all kinds of equipment and/ or construction apparatus with limited footing and/ or stabilized points of contact. Must be able to lift, carry and maneuver heavy objects for extended periods of time. Must be able to work on asphalt crew, as assigned under intense heat and constantly bending to shovel and/or rake hot asphalt constantly. Ability to work in close proximity to hot processes such as hot asphalt and paving operations.
