Department Overview
The Business Technology & Analytics Team (BT&A) supports the Firm through driving collaboration and advancement in business-centric technology, enabling the Firm to leverage data and technology assets for insights and day-to-day decision-making.
Position Responsibilities
Golub Capital is looking for a motivated individual to perform sophisticated data analysis and develop automated reports for business stakeholders and leadership.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Handling ongoing BT&A sponsored analytics projects and developing new ones to support business needs
  • Working with counterparts across the Firm to identify, prioritize and implement projects using data from the Firm’s CRM and other operational systems to answer key business questions
  • Partnering with Technology Solutions and external vendors to complete enhancements to the analytical platforms including the Data Warehouse, SSAS Tabular Models (Cubes), the External Data Hub and others
  • Monitoring technology trends and vendor capabilities to identify emerging technologies worth exploring and coordinating vendor research and demos with business counterparts
  • Designing, testing and rolling out Power BI reports and dashboards that are used for management of the business using a variety of sources including cubes and data warehouses / data lakes
  • Creating routine data analysis deliverables and handling ad-hoc analysis requests for leadership and other business stakeholders including (but not limited to) business KPI, client / competitor activity and data quality reporting
  • Supporting the development of analytical models used for analysis of operational and externally sourced market data
  • Proactively monitoring report availability and accuracy, collaborating with counterparts in Technology Solutions to resolve issues
  • Collaborating with other Data Analytics and Data Management Teams within the Firm by providing knowledge and standard processes
  • Engaging as an active participant in Community of Practice initiatives to enhance firmwide skills and knowledge with regards to self-service reporting and analytics
  • Other tasks as assigned
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in applied mathematics / statistics, engineering, business analytics or a related field
  • 7 years of relevant work experience with database systems, reporting and data analysis
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically as it relates to common Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and data warehouse solutions
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Power Query (M), building reports and visualizations with Power BI
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI Paginated reporting and / or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Adept at handling Power BI Service workspaces and associated security privileges and deployment procedures. Solid understanding of data ingestion and refresh policies in Power BI. Working knowledge of Power BI Service Gateway configuration.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (including Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Git / GitHub version control software, common software development and deployment practices
  • Experience with open-source data analytics languages, such as R and Python, is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in a straightforward manner to business and Technology Team stakeholders
  • Diligent attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and meet deadlines

Compensation and Benefits
For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $140,000 - $185,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
