Job Description: Smog Technician
We are seeking a certified Smog Technician to join our team. In this role, you will conduct emissions inspections, diagnose issues, and ensure vehicles meet state and federal air quality standards. Responsibilities
- Perform emissions tests using state-approved equipment and procedures.
- Inspect vehicle systems to ensure compliance with smog and emissions regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot emission-related issues, providing clear explanations to customers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and repairs.
- Replace or repair emission control components, such as catalytic converters or oxygen sensors.
- Stay updated on state and federal smog regulations and testing requirements.
- Ensure the testing facility meets all operational and environmental compliance standards.
- Advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance to improve emissions performance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certification as a Smog Technician (state-specific certification required).
- Strong understanding of emissions systems, testing equipment, and repair techniques.
- Experience working with diagnostic tools and computerized testing systems.
- Knowledge of state and federal emissions regulations.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in testing and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
