The Big 12 is looking for independent contractors to serve as campus content creators (CCC) in each of the Big 12 markets to capture content for the Conference, its member institutions, and other Conference stakeholders on a work-for-hire basis. This will be the inaugural season of the academic year-long program and an opportunity to build your portfolio and experience in videography and photography with a focus on social media.
Summary / Objective
This role requires an individual who has a passion for capturing live sports content in unique ways, advanced videography and / or photography skills, and an interest in a career in sports. As an independent contractor, each CCC will be assigned to capture video and / or photo content for the Big 12 utilizing their own equipment or taking advantage of rental services for necessary equipment. Content captured will be provided to the Big 12 and may be distributed across the Big 12 ecosystem for use across social media, web, broadcast, and more.
The main responsibilities of the CCC will be to capture high-quality videos and images on an as-needed basis at Big 12 games, matches, and events, as well as select activations (e.g., Homecoming, Media). This role may cover a variety of sports (men and women) across the fall and spring sport calendars. To be a CCC, you must have a flexible schedule that will allow you to shoot various home events on an as-needed basis. Depending on performance and availability, you may have the opportunity to work at Big 12 Championships or other Member events. The CCC will report to the Big 12 Marketing Team.
Scope of Work
- Capture and edit best-in-class video and / or photo content from games and events you are assigned to cover on a work-for-hire basis.
- Share quality content quickly and efficiently during live events and games.
- Fulfill requests and meet deadlines that come in from various Big 12 stakeholders.
- Communicate with Big 12 contacts in a timely fashion to receive instructions and other key information.
- Share a recap of your work with Big 12 Marketing Team following the conclusion of each event and promptly upload your content into the Big 12 archive.
- Work together with other CCCs as needed during events and shoots.

Expected Time Commitment
Generally, the time commitment will be the duration of the event as well as, at maximum, one hour pre- and post-event. Hours may vary based on the sport and assignment.
