The services we provide range from Aerial/Underground construction to fiber optic splicing.
We are currently seeking skilled and motivated individuals for full-time employment as a Fiber Optic Install/Drop and Repair Technician. A company vehicle will be assigned- daily work assignments will be dispatched from home. The candidate should be mechanically inclined with a strong attention to detail. Internet will be provided to candidates who live within our service territory. The shift will be Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 am-6:00 pm
Responsibilities:
The Fiber Optic Install/Drop and Repair Technician will be the face of GoNetspeed and will possess excellent technical ability as well as customer service skills.
Required Skills:
•Installation of fiber optic cabling from the interior of the home to the exterior FTTH housing.
•Prep and splice fiber optic connectors.
•Installation of ONT (Optical Network Terminal)
•Troubleshoot customer's home network to isolate and resolve service-related issues.
•Educate customers on how to properly operate their newly installed services.
•Testing and repairing (splicing) of fiber network cable.
•Troubleshooting optical network equipment from MST to House
•Use of OTDR light testing or similar equipment.
•Installation of fiber optic cabling from MST to NID
Education:
•3-5 years' experience in the field.
•Ability to communicate courteously and professionally.
•Ability to properly use hand tools and power tools.
•Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time.
•Ability to lift and move 75 lbs.
•Ability to climb ladders and work at elevations.
•Willing to work long days, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
•Must possess a valid state driver's license and non-negligent driving record.
•Must pass a pre-employment background check, MVR check, and drug screening.
