Essential Job Functions:
Assist in building, nurturing, and maintaining relationships with government officials, policymakers, local organizations, and other key stakeholders.
Regularly meet and communicate with government officials to stay informed on potential policy changes, regulations, and municipal priorities that could impact GoNetspeed’s interests.
Leverage relationships to obtain early insights regarding competitors, local market trends, and upcoming governmental actions that could impact business development.
Represent GoNetspeed’s interests in government discussions, ensuring that GoNetspeed’s needs are communicated effectively while maintaining transparency and compliance with local laws.
Maintain detailed records of interactions and relationships with government officials and report regularly to senior management on the status of key relationships and emerging intelligence.
Collaborate with internal business development, operations, legal, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on government relations strategies and to address potential challenges that may arise at the municipal level.
Attend government meetings, public hearings, and other municipal events that could provide valuable insights into governmental priorities or emerging market conditions.
Respond to inquiries from local governments, regulatory bodies, and community organizations.
Prepare presentations, reports, and advocacy materials for meetings with government officials and other stakeholders.
Identify government business opportunities, including grants, and support the development of proposals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft policy briefs and advocacy materials.
Excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government officials and internal teams.
Detail-oriented with strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and integrity in professional settings.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in government relations, public policy, advocacy, business development or a related field.
Experience in telecommunications or business development is a plus.
