Bubble Tea Barista

We are seeking a dedicated Barista to join our team at a bustling café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for bubble tea, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduling

Scheduling is flexible, but in general last 4-7 hours and start at 10am or start around 4pm. Trainees generally start at 10 hours/week and can demonstrate capability for up to 30 hours/week.

Compensation

Training base pay is $9/hour. Exams are taken to raise base pay to $12/hour, based on performance. In addition to base pay, you earn tips for your shift. After that, taking lead responsibilities (marketing, supplies, health & safety, etc.) raises compensation to $13/hr KPI bonuses equity (profit-sharing). The average lead currently earns $15 /hour.

Timeline

1. Submit Application. Fully leverage all screener questions to demonstrate your personal paradigms. This is your main opportunity to stand out. (10 out of 50 applicants clear this step).

2. Schedule Remote Chat. Introduce yourself to management via video or phone call (~15 minutes). (4 out of 10 applicants clear this step).

3. Schedule Practical Interview. You will be given three tasks to complete in less than an hour and all training reference materials. Demonstrate your ability to complete the tasks with minimal guidance besides the reference materials.

4. Complete Paid Training. Reaching this point allows you to be scheduled for paid shifts and enter the 90-day probationary training period. Within this period, you must complete all training requirements: a self-guided training checklist, a practical timed exam, and finally a written exam. You can end your probationary period early by completing all requirements early (candidates that show great potential have completed their training period as swiftly as 3 weeks).

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve a variety of tea, milk, and coffee drinks with precision and care

- Operate POS system for order taking and payment processing

- Handle cash transactions accurately

- Assist in food preparation and maintaining cleanliness in the café

- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all guests

- Seek opportunities to grow the store's presence and draw more customers.
