Job Summary
This is a challenging role that requires safe and efficient driving practices. The successful candidate will have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level required for successful job performance.
Requirements:
- Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read, write, and communicate in English at the level required for successful job performance;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Completion of bus driver training school provided by the California Highway Patrol or the District;
- Driving experience either paid or unpaid.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safe driving practices;
- Ability to drive a school bus safely and efficiently;
- Maintain order among students on a school bus;
- Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
- Recognize malfunctions in equipment and take appropriate action.
Licenses and Certifications:
- An appropriate Class B California operator's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles;
- A school bus drivers certificate issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles;
- A valid medical certificate;
- A Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
