L.J Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as an Aerospace Project Manager. You will serve as the cross functional leader of a project team comprised of Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Planner / Buyers and Quality Assurance Specialists. You'll perform a wide range of duties aimed at ensuring the timely execution of project deliverables within scope and budget and all other duties. Plan the Project : -Collaborate with Program Management to define the scope of the project, create the initial project timeline and estimate resource requirements-Create a detailed internal work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully take the project from initial prototype design, through Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and qualification -Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the various phases of the project -Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities -Review the project schedule with Senior Management and Program Management to ensure the timeline matches the overall business strategy Implement the Project : -Work with Managers in various functional areas to assign staff resources and determine their time allocation on the project-Set up data management system to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured -Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project Control the Project : -Drive project execution in accordance with the industry standards and SOPs-Maintain a project action tracker and ensure progress of individual actions are completed on time -Facilitate project team meetings at a predetermined cadence Monitor the Project : -Maintain an up-to-date project schedule, reporting progress, issues, risks and opportunities to Program Management and Senior Management -Monitor procurement expenditures to ensure the project hardware costs fall with in target pricing -Maintain continuous awareness of risks, issues, and opportunities which may arise and maintain a detailed log Close the Project : -Prepare the project for closure and handoff to the full rate production team, by ensuring all issues and roadblocks have been closed or addressed, production documentation has been updated and released, lessons learned documentation is complete, and all hard resource constraints have been evaluated -Facilitate production handoff meeting and officially close the NPI project -2-5 years' experience in project management or training in project management concepts -Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. -Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software -Knowledge of technical concepts such as design engineering, manufacturing, or testing -Capable of understanding engineering prints, Bills of Material and Bills of Operation -Demonstrate affective team leadership skills -Demonstrate impeccable organizational skills
