Job Summary
The Shift Leader is responsible and accountable for assisting the management team in all restaurant activities. Shift Leaders are well versed in every position in the restaurant and have the potential to promote into management roles with Rusty Taco.
As a Rusty Taco Shift Lead You Will
- Be a support role to the restaurant management team and be responsible for any tasks outlined by the General Manager and Area Manager.
- Manage staffing levels throughout the shift; make appropriate business decisions on labor.
- Receive product/food from vendors and be responsible for verifying the invoice, temperatures of product and the product quality.
- Actively participate as a member of the management team and be expected to set the example and direction during the shift.
- Help the management team train new and existing team members to ensure they are following recipes and procedures.
- Recognize and thank team members.
- Have excellent communication skills: oral and written.
- Be compliant and willing to work alongside employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
- Basic computer functions (MS word, excel)
- Knowledgeable of Rusty Taco training procedures and materials
- Food Handlers/Food Safety Certification
- Responsible Alcohol Service Certification, where applicable
Preferred
- Previous retail or restaurant experience.
- Proven customer service track record.
- Adaptable to change.
Physical Demands
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to move freely around work location (internal and external).
- Able to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and stoop.
- Able to push or pull equipment and items.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Able to move about office/restaurant setting to complete responsibilities.
