Job Summary
The Food Service Shift Lead leads crew members and directs all daily food service operations of the store, supervises, and trains employees, and works with vendors to ensure food products in the store are optimized and waste reduced. Works productively to fulfill their job requirements and assists all other employees in the preparation and distribution of food in their stores. They build vendor relationships, run day-to-day store operations, validate invoices, practice food safety, and manage all activities associated with the food service operation in their store.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
Develop and build vendor relationships.
Day-to-day operation- running shifts, stocking, producing, following Good2Go programs, opening and closing of store, and all food-related operations in the store.
Serves customers correct, complete orders within service time goals according to the Customer Service Standards and upholds high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Prepares and ensures consistent, high quality products are served to customers.
Maintains fast accurate service, ensures an excellent customer experience, and makes sure all products are consistent with company standards.
Leads crew members and directs all daily food service operations of the store, supervises and trains employees, ensuring all food preparation is complete.
Manages employee breaks and shift changes.
Motivates and coaches crew members
Assists in the training of new employees.
Distributes all necessary tasks and duties during each shift in a fair and effective manner, manage unexpected no-show situations.
Fill in for absent employees and help where needed.
Manage shrink and waste.
Be proactive in community involvement for food and beverage.
Sample as directed by Good 2 Go Sampling Policy.
Validate invoices
Ensure all food products are prepared and handled in a safe way. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, especially when handling food.
Rotate products and try to reduce waste.
Maintains equipment
Maintain all activities associated with the foodservice and dispensed beverage offers in your stores.
Work as a team with all store associates.
Additional
Cover additional shifts as assigned.
Supervision of Others
Lead crew members and direct all daily food service operations of the store, supervise, and train employees, and ensure that food prep is done professionally.
Manage no-show situations, when necessary.
Work Environment
Typically work is performed in retail store setting.
May work in hot or cold environments.
Physical Demands
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Able to sit for extended periods of time.
Able to move freely around work location (internal and external).
Able to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and stoop.
Able to push or pull equipment and items.
Able to lift up to 55 lbs.
Able to move about office/store setting to complete responsibilities.
Frequent use of phone, computer, store, and office equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
Have previous experience in restaurants, retail or a position involving customer contact is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills and able to learn company systems and processes.
Adheres to the companys values and ethical expectations
Able to effectively multitask.
Strong customer service focus.
Excellent leadership skills and able to motivate team.
High integrity and ethics and are trustworthy in cash management.
Basic math skills for accurately delivering change to customers, and inventory counts.
Preferred
High School Diploma/GED.
One or more years experience in retail operations or a related field.
One or more years experience in retail management.
Experience with Scheduling, invoice entry, audits, PDI entry of waste and shrink, Product Ordering, Accurate Deposits, food prep.
