Role Overview:
The Director of Denim Design will play a pivotal role in defining the creative vision and strategic direction of Good American’s denim category. This role is designed for an experienced, forward-thinking creative design leader with deep expertise in premium denim development, trend forecasting, and sustainable innovation. The ideal candidate will craft dynamic and relevant design concepts while ensuring product viability, marketability, and alignment with the brand's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute an innovative design strategy for Good American’s denim category, ensuring the brand stands out in the marketplace.
Lead design initiatives to explore cutting-edge fabric technologies, washes, and sustainable materials, creating forward-thinking denim collections.
Stay ahead of industry trends and shifts, creating designs that resonate with a diverse consumer base and stay true to cultural relevance.
Collaborate with PD and technical design teams to drive fabric innovation and performance-based denim solutions.
In partnership with the Sr Creative Director of Design manage the denim design process from ideation to execution, ensuring the highest standards of quality and fit are met.
Partner with global suppliers and mills to develop exclusive fabrics, washes, and treatments that position Good American as a leader in innovation in the denim space.
Integrate sustainability goals by incorporating eco-conscious practices and responsible sourcing into the design process.
Drive growth for the denim category by creating innovative, on-trend, and commercially successful collections.
Qualifications & Experience:
10 years of experience in denim design.
Demonstrated expertise in denim innovation, fabric development, and sustainable design practices.
In-depth knowledge of wash techniques, fit construction, and premium denim manufacturing.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience managing and guiding cross-functional teams.
Ability to balance creative vision with business objectives to drive product success.
Established relationships with denim mills, wash houses, and suppliers globally.
Experience working with contemporary or premium denim brands is preferred.
