Located in the heart of Milford, Connecticut, we house children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in a beautiful building specifically designed for early childhood education. Our NAEYC accredited center applies a play to learn methodology and focuses on meeting every child's developmental and social-emotional needs. Job Overview
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher's Assistant to join our early childhood education team.
The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old, while collaborating with parents and staff to ensure the best outcomes for each child. Our center focuses on individualized lessons that adapt our standard routine to each child's specific needs.
We employ a play-to-learn approach, where children grow intellectually and socially through fun and engaging activities that incorporate art, science, literacy, socializing, motor skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
- Provide care and support for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging student participation and engagement.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and productive classroom atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Support students with diverse needs by adapting teaching methods to meet individual requirements.
- Maintain an organized classroom environment, including preparing materials for lessons and cleaning up after activities and meals.
- Support lead teachers with serving meals, preparing for nap time, and keeping the classroom clean and orderly.
- Collaborate with other educators to create an inclusive learning environment that respects each child's unique abilities.
Skills
- Willingness to learn from more experienced teachers.

- Experience in childcare.

Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare
- Work authorization
- Background check
- Current Physical Exam (less than 1 year old)
