About the Role
Good Company Residential Care (Good Co.) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality, individualized care for adults with developmental disabilities in a supported living environment. You’ll play a vital role in fostering independence, safety, and well-being in our clients’ lives, supporting daily activities and implementing care plans while adhering to the highest professional and regulatory standards.
- Client Care & Goal Support
- Implement individual service plans (ISPs) and adjust as needed
- Document daily progress toward goals
- Support clients with physical, emotional, and social needs
- Medication & Health Management
- Administer medications and document accurately
- Identify and report health concerns or behavioral changes
- Use PPE and follow health safety protocols
- Routine & Engagement
- Follow program structures for consistency
- Involve clients in daily routines including meal preparation and housekeeping
- Coordinate and accompany clients to medical appointments
- Environmental Safety
- Maintain clean and safe living environments
- Lock hazardous materials and conduct routine safety checks
- Report and document all incidents promptly
- Documentation & Compliance
- Use Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document behaviors and progress
- Maintain medication logs and appointment records
- Comply with state, local, and federal guidelines
- Professional Conduct
- Demonstrate respect, compassion, and privacy in every interaction
- Participate in mandatory training and staff meetings
- Conduct fire drills and prepare clients for emergencies
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Required Certifications:
- CPR & First Aid (bi-annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention)
- DSP1 & DSP2 (completion within set timeframe if not already certified)
- Valid TB Test & Bi-Annual Health Screening
- Livescan fingerprinting and background check
- Must meet all state-mandated training requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use EHR software & perform digital documentation
- Detail-oriented and reliable with excellent timekeeping
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with physical mobility
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance (if transporting consumers)
- Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available)
- Willingness to comply with California Wage Order 5 (rest/meal breaks)
- Adherence to professional appearance, hygiene, and ethical standards
