What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cultivation Lead position at Good Day Farm?
The Cultivation Lead oversees a team of Cultivation Techs who are dedicated to specific grow rooms and are responsible for caring for plants in their assigned zone from clone to harvest. A lead is responsible for the proper execution of all cultivation projects, IPM applications, fertigation, and cloning within their rooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors performance based on the yields of sellable flower per harvest out of their pod.
- Maximizes the quantity of total sellable flower per harvest.
- Manages plants through all phases of growth: clone, veg, flower, harvest.
- Leads and manages a team of cultivation techs.
- Delegates the appropriate personnel to work on all projects.
- Trains the team on all cultivation tasks, and closely supervises project execution.
- Scouts for pests and hermaphroditic issues.
- Monitors plant saturation by strain and recommends possible adjustments with fertigation team accounting to how plants are feeding.
- Completes all cultivation projects efficiently and on schedule – deleafing (schwazzing), lollypopping, trellis, dirt transplant, etc.
- Coordinating with other pod/cultivation leads to allocate team members to projects that require larger teams.
- Maintains the cleanliness of all rooms/tables daily.
- Leads a team and gives direction per Cultivation Managers or Director of Cultivation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check
- Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally
- Comfortable learning and using new software.
- Capable of working with little to no supervision.
- Understands compliance regulations and adheres to SOP’s for specialized areas.
- Ability to handle multiple projects & tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong ethics and reliability.
- Ability to stay focused.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
- Available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
Education & Experience Requirements.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 1 years of cultivation experience in a licensed cannabis facility strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with all Good Day Farm cultivation tasks.
- Prior leadership experience
Physical Requirements.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
- The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
- The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions.
- The ability to work in low light situations.
- Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity.
- Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals.
