What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prepared Foods Manager position at Good Earth Food Co-op?
This position primarily consists of managing a team to do production of all Deli prepared food which includes prepping and dishwashing as well as cleaning and maintaining a user friendly kitchen. It also requires holding all deli staff accountable.
Job Specific Responsibilities-
- Come to work on time and use time management to ensure the daily production gets done
- Delegate to fellow staff members jobs to get done and hold them accountable to get the work done
- Work with general manager on creating systems, conducting reviews, and data entree
- Use the recipes to create what needs to be prepared each day: Entree, Wraps, Salads
- Prepare (wash, chop,store) produce for use in deli recipes
- Wash dishes as directed in accordance with procedure
- Slice meats and cheeses for use in deli recipes
- Prepare foods for sale necessary (i.e. wrapping and filling container for sale in deli cooler)
- Follow prep list to determine what needs to get done each shift
- Maintain a clean working environment (counters, equipment, etc.)
- Monitor deli sales floor and keep stocked and clean
- Maintain up to date, clean and clear signage that fits in with store branded designs (example: local, organic)
- Follow the GEFC Mission Statement, GEFC hand book, and attend meetings that are required
- Excellent customer service: Exceed expectations of customers for service and provide a welcoming environment for all in accordance with the Co-op’s customer service standards
- Ability to help with difficult or emotional customer situations
- Anticipate customer needs by actively checking the retail floor area
- promptly respond to requests for service and assistance
- Treat all customers and co-workers fairly, consistently, and with respect
Essential Physical Requirements-
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Frequently stand, walk, squat, bend, balance, and rotate body
- Ability to safely use sharp cutting instruments.
