Cheever’s Cafe, an iconic Oklahoma City institution, has been proudly serving the Tulsa community since December 2024. We’re continuing to grow our team as we bring our beloved menu, warm atmosphere, and signature hospitality to new guests. POSITION SUMMARY:
Greet guests upon arrival and create a warm and welcoming environment by presenting a positive first impression. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes and keep the flow of restaurant service smooth, while upholding A Good Egg Dining Group’s mission to positively impact lives by building enduring memories and multi-generational relationships through a dedication to executional excellence, intentional service, extreme hospitality, and culinary trust.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer phone professionally and according to restaurant standard.
  • Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
  • When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant.
  • Answer phone professionally and according to restaurant standards.
  • Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu, specials, and be able to answer any question customers may have effectively.
  • Take reservations and enter on OpenTable according to restaurant standards. Prompt customer for additional information and email whenever possible.
  • When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party on OpenTable wait list.
  • Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
  • Call out name and number of party when tables become available.
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
  • Seat guest/guests based on preferences and while balancing customer flow in service stations.
  • Be able to re-work existing reservations and waiter sections to accommodate walk-ins and unexpected last-minute reservations. Inform Management and staff of changes.
  • Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
  • Relay messages to servers, bus, and manager as needed, especially guest notes from OpenTable.
  • Ensures that the reception area is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Help with bussing and drink service if time warrants.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No previous restaurant experience required.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must have exceptional grooming habits.
