The Co-op is looking for people with a passion for providing exceptional customer service and supporting healthy, sustainable food networks in our community!. We are looking to fill a full-time position candidates must be able to work weekends and evenings.
The Front-End Shift Lead is the first line of support for our customers and ensures that the Front-End Department is running efficiently and effectively at all times. This position is responsible for operating curbside service, filling in for cashiers when needed, providing breaks for staff members and providing superior customer service to all guests. Your leadership and attention to detail will be critical in ensuring the success of our front end
operations. Primary duties will include cashiering, checking out customers quickly, efficiently, courteously, and accurately while providing exceptional customer service. Understand and follow through on all cash register functions. Record and report PLU/ prices that are incongruent. Practice good cash handling and follow established transaction procedures. Bag groceries for customers as needed. Complete and maintain STAR certification to legally ring up alcohol. Other duties will be assign as needed. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work as an effective team member, and a high degree of reliability along with the willingness ability to learn and grow with the business.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer Service and money handling experience required.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications and programs including email, Catapult, and operations related applications.
- High level of interest in natural and organic foods. High level of interest in the cooperative business structure and in the long-term sustainability of locally-owned, independent businesses preferred.
- Very strong work ethic and demonstrable attention to detail. Must be a fast, focused, and hardworking person.
- Experience working with the public. Experience with diverse cultures and backgrounds preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the front end of the store
- Ensure exceptional customer service and efficient checkout processes
- Supervise and train a team of front end associates
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels at the front end
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless store operations
Skills:
As a Front End Shift Lead, you will utilize your strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills on a daily basis. You will also need to be proficient in point-of-sale systems and inventory management software. Additionally, your ability to provide exceptional customer service and collaborate with other departments will be critical in ensuring the success of our store operations.
