Job Summary:
Sanitors are responsible for supporting the Company’s sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, USDA, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Perform basic janitorial duties (e.g., emptying garbage/recycling, sweeping, stocking supplies)
- Maintains work area in clean orderly condition
- Complete cleaning tasks per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- Perform basic wash area duties including but not limited to cleaning utensils by hand
- Properly use chemicals to perform cleaning tasks effectively and safely
- Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel
- Required to follow all safety requirements including LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), and the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Must possess good communication skills, and the proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Accurately document work performed
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment. Also, be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Comply with all Company rules, regulations, and policies.

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- GED or high school diploma is required
- Sanitation/Janitorial experience preferred.
- Production and/or warehouse experience desirable, food manufacturing a plus.
- Must follow all GFG GMP’s and work consistently with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Able to work overtime and weekends when needed.
- Ability to read and write English
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to read labels and production documents.
- Proactive mind-set, decision making ability and flexibility are important.
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail and strong organizational skills preferred.
- Must have a sense of urgency to complete sanitation tasks to minimize any delay in production startup.

- Individual will be subject to production and warehouse environment approximately 85 percent of the work time. (Wet environment with temperatures in the range of 38 to 40 degrees)
- Medium/High noise levels from operating machines and cleaning equipment.
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to enforce Good Food Manufacturing (GMP’s) processes.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment when using any cleaning chemicals.
- Able to hold stationary positions for extended periods of time
- Able to communicate information accurately to others
- Able to detect and discern sounds accurately in order to exchange information
- Able to move throughout workspace frequently
- Adjust self to stooping, reaching, crouching, and twisting positions on occasion
- Able to observe details at close range, perceive colored images as well as effectively perceive computer generated images on a screen
- Inspect, activate, operate, and position any appropriate machinery functions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, without restriction.
