Job Summary
As a key member of the Production Team, the Machine Operator reports to the Production Team Leader. The Machine Operator monitors the speed and load of the machine while it is running and needs to have a good understanding of the overall mechanism. The Machine Operator will work closely with the Q.A. Department to ensure the safest and highest quality foods.
Job Responsibilities
• Overall Machine inspection
• Will assemble and/or disassemble the machine according to schedules.
• Perform equipment start-up and shut down
• Will operate assigned stations and all other associated work including: preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, making minor adjustments to maintain greatest operational efficiency, assist other operators, Q.A. Department, Maintenance Department, etc.
• Work with Maintenance Department to help troubleshooting the machine
• Must understand and follow production schedule in a timely manner.
• Perform best practice quality checks.
• Watch for defective materials.
• Ensures final product is meeting specifications.
• Perform any other related work in accordance with line quality.
• Manually record all data as required (Quality and Production checks)
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment and facility as required.
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting
• Follow GMP’s and Safety Procedures at all times.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with the Company procedures, rules and regulations
• Report any issues to the Production Team Leader
• Submit completed paperwork in a timely manner
• Comprehensive knowledge of general food safety program best practices and must be highly proficient in ability to document and work within GMP’s. HACCP, HACQP, and SQF.

Qualifications
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• GED or high school diploma is required.
• Six months of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Bilingual (English – Spanish)

Physical Requirements
The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment (38-40 F)
• Able to hold stationary positions for extended periods of time
• Able to communicate information accurately to others
• Able to detect and discern sounds accurately in order to exchange information
• Able to move throughout workspace frequently
• Adjust self to stooping, reaching, crouching, and twisting positions on occasion
• Able to observe details at close range, perceive colored images as well as effectively perceive computer generated images on a screen
• Inspect, activate, operate, and position any appropriate machinery functions
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work overtime and/or weekends.
Work Environment:
• Individual will be subject to production and warehouse environment. (wet environment with temperatures in the range of 38 to 40 degrees)
• Medium/High noise levels from operating machines and cleaning equipment.
• Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to enforce Good Food Manufacturing (GMP’s) processes.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment when using any cleaning chemicals.
