Position Overview:
The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the Good Gravy Group. This position is responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, and budgeting processes while providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with restaurant managers to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing variances, and recommending corrective actions.
- Mentor and support restaurant managers in financial practices, including cost control and revenue management.
- Analyze restaurant performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations to enhance profitability.
- Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
