Position: In-Person Tutor – Math or Reading

Location: At local libraries or schools near zip code 20785, 20735 or 20744 in Prince George’s County, MD

Availability: 2 days per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $30-50 per hour for In-Person tutoring.

Start Date: Beginning of March.

End Date: End of May for during the day school assignments and continuous for private pay clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized, one-on-one or small group (up to 4) tutoring in Math or English Language Arts (ELA).
• Plan lessons and attend virtual meetings as needed.
• Maintain communication with school staff and our admin team to support student progress.
• Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies for students in grades K-8.
• Create a positive, engaging environment that fosters academic growth.
• Utilize strong classroom and behavior management skills.
• Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school staff to support students' academic success.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, progress, and attendance.

Requirements:

• Current CJIS background check or willingness to obtain one (we can provide details).
• Available at least 2 days per week anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM for school assignments and anytime between 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM for private clients.
• Knowledge of tutoring best practices.
• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching (4 years preferred).
• Reliable transportation to and from location(s).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for helping students achieve academic success.
• Ability to make learning fun and engaging for students.
