Program Description:
The Good Landing Recovery Leadership Development Internship is intended to create a beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for graduating clients of the program. The program is designed with the client in mind, to keep them in a recovery environment that is conducive to their sobriety.
This program will also enhance our ability to accomplish our strategic goals, develop top talent passionate about our recovery vision, and build strong pillars that continue within the community.
If a candidate performs well during this internship, there may be an opportunity offered to pursue a paid career with Good Landing Recovery.
Discipleship Phase:
The initial phase of the program consists of a 10-12 week training program. During this program, you will hear from Good Landing Senior Leadership on the concepts that have made the organization successful. This should be considered discipleship at its best. You will learn concepts such as:
- Our Heart for the Addict
- How Excellence Transfers
- Why Cultivating Leadership is Important
You will also be immersed in two (2) books that are core to our corporate culture.
- The Ideal Team Player
- The Five Dysfunctions of a Team
Internship Phase:
During this phase. the candidate will perform in one of the functions of a traditional Behavioral Health Technician. These roles will provide behavior therapy to support and encourage growth and skill development, assisting in delivering behavioral and treatment goals.
You will provide support to paid BHTs and performs functions such as:
Level 1 Opportunities
- Assistant House Manager
- Facilities Coordinator
- Transportation Technician
- Intake Specialist
Level 2 Opportunities
- Administrative Assistant/ Support
- Case Manager
- Alumni and Lost Accounts Coordinator
The level will be determined by staff evaluations and skills assessments.
This phase typically lasts 10-12 weeks.
Evaluation Process:
As stated, the candidate will be subject to the following evaluation cycle.
- Start of Program: Initial Interview and Expectations
- Week 5-6: How Are You Doing?
- [Group Evaluation / Discussion of Program Members]
- Week 9-10: How Are You Doing – Second Check / Likelihood of Progression Discussion- Member of Leadership
- End of Non-Paid Internship: What’s Next For You and if Staff Direction, what does it look like next?
Program Requirements:
- 75 Days or more of Abstinence from Substances while at Good Landing Recovery
- No Disciplinary Actions within the last 45 days of treatment
