good neighbor is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill the position of hospitality and events coordinator. This is a full-time position (35-40 hours). The successful candidate will be responsible for: assisting with daily operations at guesthouse by good neighbor (our seven-room hotel), coordinating all private events, and some community events. The work shift is Wednesday through Sunday, weekends and some evenings are required. The ideal candidate will have experience in the events and/or hospitality industry, be self-motivated, have strong customer service skills, and work well on a team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
guesthouse by good neighbor
- Assists guesthouse by good neighbor team with daily operations, including: setting rooms, managing reservations, greeting guests, coordinating with the housekeeping team, administrative tasks, etc.
- Assists with group booking coordination and execution
- Provides exceptional customer service to guests staying at guesthouse by good neighbor.
- Ensures compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
- All other duties as assigned by guesthouse by good neighbor leadership.
Private Events
- Assists with selling, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events– including meetings, weddings, and social gatherings at good neighbor’s event venues
- Collaborates with private event clients to: understand their event objectives and requirements, develop event timelines, and ensure all deadlines are met
- Coordinates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of events
- Provides exceptional customer service to event clients throughout the event planning process
- Conducts post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
- Assists with the maintenance and improvement of event sales materials
- Manages day-of event needs, including hired hourly staff
- Schedule event staff for prep and events:
- Delegate and reinforce the responsibilities of production, service, maintenance, and hygiene
- Ensure event staff are provided with the necessary information to execute events
- Ensure event staff comply with company policies and coach as needed
General
- Builds strong working relationships and communications with leadership staff, coffee shop staff, plant shop staff, and other good neighbor team members
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills - independently organizing multiple deliverables and tasks across departments.
- Strong communication skills - able to communicate clearly and effectively with guesthouse guests and across multiple teams within the company
- Strong time management skills - able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility - able to adapt to a start-up environment and assist with developing and refining policies and procedures.
- Shift specifications: Wednesday-Sunday, generally between hours of 9a-5p. Evening and holiday availability as needed.
- At least 2 years of experience in the hospitality and/or events industry is preferred but not required
Benefits and Pay
- The compensation structure is a base hourly rate and is commensurate with experience. Opportunity to earn commission on private events booked after 90 days.
