Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Francisco’s Mission District. Its mission is to help immigrant families access needed services, develop self-sufficiency, and participate fully as members of the community. Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Afterschool Program (ASP) Site Assistant is to provide direct service to the participants and perform administrative and operational support as assigned by the Program Manager. As an ASP Site Assistant, you have an opportunity to be a role model for school-aged children and to help create a safe, enriching and fun environment for them to grow. You will work as a team member, supervising and interacting with children in a drop-in setting, as well as supporting the creation and implementation of curriculum and activities. The ASP Site Assistant position will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager.
Specific Responsibilities
- Every day, be actively engaged with children in the program
- Provide direct service and support to the children, as assigned daily by Program Manager
- Create and maintain lesson plans and program curriculum that are grounded in youth development best practices
- Maintain a clean, fun and engaging environment while on duty
- Uphold and enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Perform daily administrative and operating tasks as assigned by the Program Manager
- Learn and practice Non-Violent Communication with participants, families, and staff
- Participate in quarterly training summits
- Maintain a predetermined work schedule, and be on time for your shifts
- No personal phone use while at the program (be present!)
- Serve as a van driver for Daily Pick-ups at School Sites
- Serve as chaperone on field trips
- Other job-related duties as assigned
