Primary responsibility of assisting the CFO in assembling and maintaining an adequate accounting/financial system for Good Samaritan Hospital Association (GSHA) & Foundation (GSHSF). The accountant will provide accounting support to financial accounting areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, fixed assets, and account reconciliation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business is Preferred; equivalent job experience in bookkeeping or accounting will be considered.
- Excellent understanding of the accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software and data entry preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in an office setting is preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
- Responsible for Cost Report monthly maintenance of CAH model.
- Support in developing reports for financial analysis.
- Assist with cost reports and internal and external audits.
- Input general ledger entries for account changes
- Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances.
- Track, process, and report all Accounts Receivable transactions including managing manual and electronic deposits.
- Work with payroll entries and intra-company transfers reconciliations and intra-company reconciliation.
- Assisting the CFO in internal and external reporting requirements including the budget process, year end audit, 990 reporting, and cost reporting processes.
- Completion of various schedules required for cost reporting, year-end audit, and 990 reporting.
- Assist with the annual budget process, involving department input and association goals, and compiling budget information in preparation for board approval as needed.
- Ensure computer information is updated with new budget data.
- Assist with preparation of the Medicaid cost report for the Haaland Estates.
- Aid in the review and administration of the Association's Retirement Plan as needed
- Foundation book keeping.
- All other duties as assigned.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office setting. Works in a well-lit, temperature controlled room.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Approximately 90% of time is spent sitting at a computer terminal or desk. Requires the lifting of computer reports and files weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires normal vision and hearing range.
