The Substance Abuse Counselor will provide direct care and support to patients undergoing detoxification from drugs and alcohol, adhering to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria. This role involves assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to help patients through the recovery process in a structured clinical setting.
Education:- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, preferred
- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or equivalent certification required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor in California.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CADC, LADC) are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling, with a focus on detoxification and inpatient care.
- Experience with ASAM criteria in a clinical setting is required.
