About Us

Good Samaritan Hospital has been serving Silicon Valley since 1965, giving patients access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.

Our 470 bed facility is a recognized leader in advanced cardiology services and provides a full array of diagnostic and interventional coronary peripheral services.

Other specialized programs include echocardiography, Vascular Sonograph and EKG services. We are a Joint Commission Accredited comprehensive stroke center.

We are also one of 3 hospitals in the US to receive a 5th consecutive Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer.

What You Will Do

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
">
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.

• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
">
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
">
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Required Skills and Qualifications

">
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
">
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or diploma from an accredited nursing program.
">
• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
">
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull equipment up to 100 pounds, and stand for long periods.
">
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
