What are the responsibilities and job description for the Female House Assistant- Residential Program (Temporary Position) position at Good Samaritan Shelter?
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-4pm
Job Summary: Coordinates a variety of activities for residents of residential and sober living homes and provides daily oversight to the safety and well being of the residents. Provides medication and withdrawal monitoring, and transportation for clients in residential treatment by performing the following duties:
· Responsibilities:
· Assists in planning daily operating activities including and supervision of facilities clean up and daily chores
· Documents records of daily activities of residents.
· Ascertains need for and secures the services of emergency response (i.e. police, fire department, ambulance, etc.).
· Sorts and distributes mail.
· May escort individuals on trips or outside establishment for shopping or appointments as needed.
· May perform UA testing for residents who are suspected of drug/alcohol use.
· Transporting clients to appointments
· Reports any facility maintenance issues to direct supervisor.
· Carries out duties and responsibilities in accordance with agency policy and procedures and applicable City, County, State and Federal Laws.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Be able and willing to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends
· Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training Provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
· Have reliable transportation and:
· A valid driver’s license
· The ability to qualify for Good Samaritan Shelter insurance coverage
Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
Tuberculosis Test Background Screening Drug Test
Work Environment
The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using alcohol and drugs, and who may not be attentive to basic personal hygiene, health and safety practices. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and lack of personal hygiene. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in an office setting. Sometimes work may become stressful when working under pressure.
