Responsibilities:
This role involves serving as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining vital signs
- Providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents
- Transferring, repositioning, and walking residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Completing tasks related to food preparation and dining while creating a positive dining experience for residents
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
