Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This position requires a caring and compassionate individual who can provide high-quality care and support to residents with varying levels of need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and feeding
- Obtain and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to residents, including listening to their concerns and addressing their emotional needs
- Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
