Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in our long-term care team, providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This position requires a high level of compassion, empathy, and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, providing water and supplements as appropriate
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, as needed
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
