Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant Trainee provides holistic client-centered care that promotes independence and client rights in a safe, caring, and efficient manner. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the trainee works as part of the nursing team and follows location-specific standards for infection prevention and control, personal protective equipment use, safety, and privacy.
Responsibilities
The trainee assists clients with meals and snacks, provides water and nutritional supplements as appropriate, and assists with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties within non-certified nursing assistant role. The trainee also assists the client in transferring, repositioning, range of motion exercises, and walking using appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
Requirements
To be successful as a Nursing Assistant Trainee, you should have a high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16 and prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. You must also be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position if applicable.
