As a Medication Assistant (MA), you will play a vital role in delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. Your knowledge and skills will enable you to provide age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of our residents per plan of care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs
- Offering psycho-social support and other personal care to assigned residents
- Assisting residents with meals and snacks, providing water and supplements as appropriate
- Administering prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations
In this role, you will also have opportunities to participate in wellness and recreational programs and encourage residents to engage in these activities.
Required qualifications include:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred but not required
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred
