Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a long-term care facility. As a member of the nursing team, the NA is responsible for delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents, under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
- Assists with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support
- Participates in procedures and aids providers and nursing staff members as needed
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
